God’s Favor upon South Sudan

South Sudan was birthed and appointed by God, as Paul Joshua Deng Leek says in the book.

“I had been taking our church through that series as a teaching, then I realized that each of these areas was an opportunity to disciple our people in their strength. This story I am telling you is the area in which He showed me how we can begin to be strong politically.

Today you are enjoying the fruits of a peaceful, corruption-free government because we took time to learn and teach these truths from the Bible. When we read the Bible and pray, He reveals unique things which help us to see our future and the strategies which will keep us a step ahead of others.

It was not only South Sudanese who prayed and repented. Christians from so many parts of the world received heavy burdens in their hearts to pray for our nation.

A lady from Hong Kong who did not even know South Sudan and the story of our nation, received a vision for some years. She would see a woman tied up in chains when she prayed. She would ask the Lord “Who is that woman who is in pain, bleeding and crying for help?” The Lord would tell her, “She is Sudan”. She did not know what that meant.

She thought that it was a woman slave called Sudan. So, she began to pray for that woman’s release from slavery. Only much later did she realize that she was praying for South Sudan to break out of the chains of slavery.

Individuals and churches in Australia, South Africa, the United States, Uganda, Kenya, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Zambia so many other nations later began to testify how the Lord had put in their hearts a love and burden to travail and pray for South Sudan, asking for repentance for the sin of bloodshed, rebellion against God, spiritual idolatry and so many other areas of repentance.

Some of the people were asked to move to South Sudan so that they could pray in the land. Some were asked to“marry”9 the land and be part of the rebuilding process. They came from all over the world. This was happening around the same season especially from 2002 to 2005.

When the time came for South Sudan to be birthed, no man could stop it. South Sudanese had to come back to their inheritance to build themselves up and fulfill their redemptive purpose. South Sudan received heavy financial, diplomatic, and infrastructural and investor support from all over the world, willing to help restore the nation.

In the same year 9th July 2011, we celebrated our independence as the 193rd United Nations sovereign independent nation of South Sudan.

Would you say that the seven-year season of jubilee which we enjoyed was not fulfilled? Yes, it was fulfilled up to a certain level. The only challenge was that we did not realize it. However, the Lord is faithful. He says that in the days of ignorance He overlooked but now that we have knowledge we should repent and return to the rightful position as a nation.”

The book launch will be on the 17th of September at the Rebuilding Ministries International, Green Rokon, Juba, South Sudan, from 3.30pm. Welcome!
